angling a video
If you are thinking of doing videos, figuring out how to make them work to share an idea or even sell a product (which might be you if you are say a musician, I am continuing to learn things that might help. I also hope you will share your learning process here as it is a process as anything in the creative arena is. It's part art and part craft.
So here's another of mine with something I learned from Diane Widler Wenzel, who has been doing her own videos on creating art which I hope she will be sharing with more people soon. The following is checking out whether her tip on the angle of the camera was something more I needed to learn to make my own videos all they can be.

Fox Story
We've had quite an adventure with the fox family and while we are still unsure how many foxes or the whole story of what has been going on, I put some photos together into the following slideshow. To share your space with wild animals is a bit of a thrill even as it has some drawbacks. It's not really healthier for the creatures or the humans. Still, having a respect for wild animals is part of how we feel it's worthwhile to protect nature.

The Nurturing Land
Creating photo trailers has been a lot of fun for me especially since photography is such an important part of my life. This video blends together my digital paintings based on photographs I have taken with music and depicts a tiny part of what I feel regarding the importance of nature in my life.
When I originally created this video, I used the song 'Colors of the Wind,' which says it so well but it is never going to make it onto YouTube as what are the odds of getting permission to blend it with my art? $$$$ more than I have-- at the least if it could even be done. I like this music though from JewelBeat as it does give some of the majesty I feel regarding nature. Nice for the last day of May.

Discussion of romance novels
A learning-how-to-do-it video discussing my philosophy in writing romance novels regarding goals, aspirations, and ideas
The purpose of writing discussions
The purpose of doing these discussion is mostly to find a different format to speak about the same things I write about in Rain Trueax. I don't know that one method or anther is superior but it's been rather interesting to think how I can condense down to under four minutes subjects that I've been thinking about for years. The more I do it, the more I get to the essence of my writing.
Writing discussions will be about my own writing (unless others offer their own creative thoughts), what I've learned, what I believe. I hope that as I do this, I will get better at it as the books and writing deserve the best I can do.

Klamath Lake
A few days in late summer at Klamath Lake-- Southern Oregon. One of those rich ecosystems where the animals live in balance as they teach us a little more about life.
John Day River
Photos from a 2009 trip to the middle of Oregon where the John Day River drains most of the country.
Energy of the buffalo
With well over 150 photos of buffalo, it was difficult to narrow this down to the number that would fit in a video. I decided since the wolf, grizzly and eagle also are part of their life, I'd add some of the more distant shots of each. All photos from our trips to Yellowstone National Park in 2008 and 2010. I am eager to get back as the energy of the park is impossible to capture with film.

This is a place for discussions, trailers,
slideshows and videos from anything from books to nature to art. It is
for my own work but with an open invitation to others who would like
theirs to be seen here. I have long loved creating slide shows and now
adding music (so far mine is from Jewel Beat) adds to the fun.
This summer might be a time to create a lot of these as I love photography. I would enjoy putting art into these kinds of shows also. It should be a good place for Rainy Day readers to come when they need a meditative break. I know it'll be one for me in creating them. I would especially enjoy it if others email me links to their own work to also show here.
